Conflicting? God's Word Will Accomplish What He Sent It To Accomplish

God told Abraham in Genesis 21: 12 that it is through Isaac that He would bless Abraham, yet later tells Abraham in Genesis 22:2 to take Isaac (the promise) and sacrifice him.

Specifically, God said, "Take your son, your only son, whom you love--Isaac--and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you."

Talk about confusing and conflicting…

Sometimes it may seem that God's communication/conversation with us is conflicting. Like Abraham, God may have told you something and allows something else in your life that is contradictory to what He had first promised you.

I am encouraged by Abraham's story which shows that if God's kids do as Proverbs 3:5-6 says even when it does not make sense (to continue to believe); God will direct their paths. .

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

In Genesis 22: 9-14 as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, God prevented him.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

When it does not make sense, when it is confusing; God is God. As it is written in Isaiah 55:11 His word will accomplish what He sent it to accomplish.
