Why Did Jesus Die?

Why did Jesus die?

We were made to commune with God, disobedient to God (sin) interfered with Men communing with God. God not willing to permanently part with His image made a way to reinstate our communion through the death of Jesus Christ Who was sinless.

For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in Whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 1 John 2:2

Jesus died for “the forgiveness of our sins.”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Humanity was perishing because of sin and God because of a crazy love for His creations gave His sinless Son Jesus to die so men can reunite with Him (Hebrews 4:15.).

Men's problem is sin (separation from God).

Our sins, my and your sin is the reason Jesus died.

...O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! ...Romans 7:24-25

Everything else we enjoy as believers is the icing on the cake, but the forgiveness of sin, redemption is the cake.

The Grace Conversation: God's Grace Is Fundamental To The Christian

The grace conversation...

God's grace is fundamental to the Christian and his/her walk with the Lord. It is the oxygen that gives us the ability to still be considered holy while we proceed to die to the flesh daily.

One of our hosts was thinking about God's wonderful gift of grace this week. That while we were yet sinners He sent His only Son to die so that we might live. We did not deserve or earn this gift. He gave it to us freely.

Romans 3: 23-24 declares, ...All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Being justified freely by His grace thru the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

What does the grace of God mean in our lives? How are we living?

In Isaiah 43:25, God says. I, yes I alone will blot out your sins for My sake and will never think of them again.

Does knowing that as Christians we are redeemed give us a license to sin because we know or believe God will forgive us? How does God's grace work in our lives?

There are so many aspects to it. What is grace exactly, what does it do, what does it look like and what is its purpose?

The Bible answers all these questions. See Titus 2:11-14, Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Luke 13:3, Romans 6:4, Matthew 3:8, 2 Peter 3:9, John 3: 5,16, 2 Timothy 1:9, Galatians 5:13-26 and Proverbs 24:16

Grace saves and enables us to live the life of godliness we are called to live after accepting Jesus Christ.

To understand grace, we must understand repentance, the life we are called to live, and the purpose of grace.
